The Bristow Voice Method
Has anyone ever tried this or know of anyone who has tried this? This looks really interesting. I downloaded his free writing on "The New Era Of Singing Training". I am really tempted to get his DVD series. Per Bristow is the one who created this method.

"The New Era Of Singing Training" is really a great writing. The writing contains a systematic arrangements of voice Lessons which will surely help the beginners to learn the methods with ease. I'm quite sure that the tutorial will male all pleased.
Yes, I have done the Per Bristow's Sing With Freedom program at www.TheSingingZone.com and I think it is absolutely incredible. Very different from anything else. The statement in another comment that Per Bristow "expects you to continue" as if that were a negative is a little bit silly. That is like saying that a coach is cheating you because he offers you even more.
The 4 DVD set contains a wealth of training and then Bristow's continuing program in The Singing Zone is a service for those who want to continue training and is in my opinion a true bargain.
I'm also surprised by the comment that he doesn't teach "breath control". Since you, Jaime, have read "The New Era of Singing Training", you already know why he believes "breath control" is counterproductive. On the other hand he creates freer and more effective breathing already in lesson 1 and more importantly I could really feel the difference.
I really like the way he makes you experience and discover changes in your body. Hope that helps
I found very interesting information in it and it is really helpful vmware certification i think people should look forward to it this is really nice work it certification done and i will refer itil certification other people to check it out. This is a very interesting website, I have added it in my favourites. This post is exactly what I am interested.I shall be pleased to become a regular visitor.keep up the doing nice job.
Hi there jamie
dont know if you have bought it yet but I bought the DVD´s a few months ago. It is a fun method to try but I think it leaves you short. He expects you to pay a further $47 a month for continuing lessons (there are four on the DVD and to date only two further ones on the website you pay for access to) Not good value for money.
However the vocal techniques he teaches are great and certainly release tension build up
If you havent bought already take a look at the four pillars of singing by Robert Lunte. I have purchased this about 2 weeks ago and have already experienced pretty dramatic results in range (an octave higher) and power (Much higher resonance with a lot less "Force" - ie my voice is loud without my trying to be loud and now sounds like I am singing rather than talking to a tune) (see www.themodernvocalist.com)
Also another one you could look at is Ken Tamplin (www.kentamplinvocalacademy.com) who is a Rock and Gospel singer who has a version of Bel Canto (and boy can he sing) He has some free videos you can look at on his site which give you some very good exercises (Bridging and connecting). Ken was also in many famous rock bands and sang with the likes of Gillan, Foreigner etc so his pedigree is excellent and he sings as well as teaches (as does Robert - something that very few vocal teachers seem to do)
The one area that Per Bristow seems to overlook is breath support (as opposed to breath control, which he rightly says is not important) But having the breath and using it to support your singing is fundamental and he ignores this.
Overall I felt the Bristow method had some good ideas but left me short and I felt a little ripped off that I had to continue paying to access information I should have gotten anyway.
The other two courses are complete (Full book with lots of DVD´s and each exercise clearly explained) and cost $139 for the Rob Lunte course (four pillars) and I believe $99 for the Ken Tamplin course.
Good luck and keep singing
Vince
Hey Vince, thanks for your kind comments on my DVD training system, "The Four Pillars of Singing". I am very pleased to hear you are finding it to be helpful. Send me an email and let me know how its going? Also, now that you have had time to train with the system, you should consider making a small investment in your TVS training and work with me over the internet or come into Seattle for a Weekend Intensive of serious training for 8 hours over one weekend.
BTW... the web address you are referring to above is not correct. My private studio and where you can purchase a copy of "Pillars" is at www.TheVocalistStudio.com . The Modern Vocalist.com is in fact my web site, how ever that is my social network for singers that I encourage people to join... but it is for all singers, all teachers and all lovers of voice.
Again, if anyone is interested to learn more about my vocal techniques and products, please visit www.TheVocalistStudio.com.
Thanks.
Robert Lunte
